Why am I getting charged a $100 mandatory non-volunteer fee per child?

SBYFL is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and requires a lot of time and effort on everyone's part for a successful year. We rely on parents volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per child to help things run smoothly. For these reasons, a non-volunteer fee is paid up front. There is a $200 maximum per family. As you complete your volunteer hours you will be refunded this fee. There are plenty of ways to get your volunteer hours and more than enough to go around. The team meeting at the start of the season will address the various ways to get your volunteer hours.

*The non-volunteer fee does not apply to Flag Football or Flag Cheer.

Are there any discounts?

New players will recieve a $25 dollar discount. (select yes on the new player question when filling out the registration form.)

There is a Family Multiplayer Discount which will save you $25 on each subsequent registration. This is automtically applied at checkout.

Finally, there is the Early Bird Discount for a limited time only. You don't want to miss this one as it will save you $50 per registration! This is automatically applied at checkout. (The Early Bird Discount does not apply to Flag Football or Flag Cheer.)

What are the age groups and weight limits?

The teams in the CTYFL are set up based on the grade you will be entering the current year rather than age. There are weight limits and a halo rule which restricts overweight players to the line.

Halo Rule – All Teams: A player will be able to play on the offensive and defensive line only between tackles. They will not be allowed to touch the ball on the offensive side. If a player on the defensive side of the ball recovers a fumble the player is allowed to advance the ball. Halo players are not allowed to play kickoff or kick return on special teams.

How do I register for football or cheerleading?

Choose the program level that matches the grade your child will be entering in the Fall.
If your child meets the weight requirements for the Older/Lighter Rule and wishes to play down a level, we can address that during the first few weeks of practice.
