Why am I getting charged a $100 mandatory non-volunteer fee per child?
SBYFL is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers and requires a lot of time and effort on everyone's part for a successful year. We rely on parents volunteering a minimum of 4 hours per child to help things run smoothly. For these reasons, a non-volunteer fee is paid up front. There is a $200 maximum per family. As you complete your volunteer hours you will be refunded this fee. There are plenty of ways to get your volunteer hours and more than enough to go around. The team meeting at the start of the season will address the various ways to get your volunteer hours.

The teams in the CTYFL are set up based on the grade you will be entering the current year rather than age. There are weight limits and a halo rule which restricts overweight players to the line.
Halo Rule – All Teams: A player will be able to play on the offensive and defensive line only between tackles. They will not be allowed to touch the ball on the offensive side. If a player on the defensive side of the ball recovers a fumble the player is allowed to advance the ball. Halo players are not allowed to play kickoff or kick return on special teams.

How do I register for flag football, football or cheerleading?
Our registration system is based on age but the CTYFL is strictly grade based so your child may be eligible for multiple programs.
Choose the program level that matches the grade your child will be entering in the Fall even if other options are available.
For example, if your child is going into first grade you should sign them up for Mighty Mites Football.
If your child meets the weight requirements for the Older/Lighter Rule and wishes to play down a level, we can address that during the first few weeks of practice.
